"Ron" is actually a drilling jig for the wheels on the 18 pounder Blomefield DIY model kit.
In order to make sure that the holes in the castings are crisp and the correct size to fit the axle, we run a 3.5 mm drill through the center hole of the wheel.
One day Zane's brother was visiting and watched him battling with the wheels turning in his fingers while he was drilling and suggested locating the wheel over 2 nails to stop it slipping.
After a trial run on "Ron" the wheel jig was upgraded for future production. Must admit although more swanky the new jig doesn't have half "Ron's" personality!!
